Balzac Fretranthys is a character in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. He is the emperor of the Galdean Empire.

History

Some 20 years ago, a war of succession broke out in Galdea between Balzac Fretranthys and his uncle. With the aid of capable officers such as Goldwyn, Balzac would secure his claim to the throne. With the Empire weakened from the struggle, it would see itself invaded from the west but was able to repel the attacks with the aid of both Goldwyn and Dux Aldric.

At the start of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, Balzac Fretranthys is the emperor of the Galdean Empire. He seems to be well liked and respected by his people as well as those from the League of Nations. However, Dux Aldric works to undermine Balzac, eventually going so far as to have him assassinated. This results in Balzac's heir, Ishmal, succeeding him as emperor. But Dux is the one secretly pulling the strings.
