History

Ormond
Right, we'll pitch the tent here, and a hammock here. Oh, and if we'll be toiling here awhile, we must build a proper stove. Aye, with a little elbow grease, we'll be up and running within the hour!

This dwarven miner's oversized pack is crammed with every possible tool he might need for the job. Ormond has keen ears and can locate ore just by striking the rock with his hammer and listening to the hum. However, he sometimes makes it seem like everything has to happen on the double.

Design

From artist, Junko Kawano, "In the first stages of the design process, I gave Ormond more attributes typically associated with dwarves and submitted a rough sketch of Ormond with a bushy, unkempt beard. But the team quickly pointed out that his meticulous personality would mean he’d most likely keep his beard neatly braided and wear colors that would mask the dirt on his clothes. So here is the cleaner and more presentable version of him. What do you think?"

B'baba's Divination

Keeping a Dog
Ormond had a dog as a child. He was inconsolable when it passed away. He still thinks about adopting another dog, but knows he couldn't take it into the mines.

When he sees a dog on the road, he can't help but watch it pass.

Ormond the Impatient
Ormond's father, equally impatient, always preached "Sooner's better", a lesson Ormond still stands by. He is in the habit of bathing by jumping in and out of near-boiling water.

He even tries to eat quickly, racing to be the first to clean his plate.

Barbecue Buff
Ormond delights in fast-to-eat foods and prefers his meat rare, consuming it straight off the grill. This habit annoys other miners, so he’s taken to holding back and letting them cook their meat.

He still feels the urge to snatch meat he thinks has cooked too long.
