History

Lian
Uhh, maybe I’m dumbing this down a little, but—like—if a bunch of arrogant swine strut into YOUR home and started acting like they owned the place, what would YOU do? ‘Cause there’s your answer.

Lian was born into a martial arts dojo and her father taught her martial arts as a child. It was said that she was able to turn and kick before she could even walk.

Enraged at the Galdean Empire's incursion of the League of Nations, Lian swiftly left home. However, she did not consider what to do after leaving home and was at a loss over what to do next. In the meantime, she decided to go to a big city, reasoning it would offer her to chance to do something. Luckily, she was able to meet with the protagonists there and find some sense of direction.

Design

Pre-Alpha Lian sprite.png

In earliest pre-Alpha footage, Lian's sprite is shown with a different color scheme. She wears a white upper tunic with red trim, with orange pants (instead of her current green with white trim and black pants) and sports black hair instead of her normal reddish-brown hair.

B'baba's Divination

Baby of the Family
Lian grew up with five older brothers and a father who, though he could be strict, also had a soft spot for her. So she grew up getting the princess treatment from every male figure in her life.

Ever the tomboy, Lian chafed at this, and ran away to prove herself.

Red Hots, Assemble
Lian can't get enough spicy food. She has assembled a group of spice-lovers that travels around testing heat wherever it can be found.

They haven't yet found anything too hot for them, but Lian is still leading the Red Hots on their quest for new heights of spice.

Why She Joined the Watch
Lian departed the dojo and joined the Watch upon hearing rumors of an Empire invasion.

Discovering it was a lens-hunting collaboration between the Empire and the League of Nations, she realized her misunderstanding but feels it was the right decision.
