Gocteau is a character in both Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. He is a guild leader with several business concerns across Allraan. He was first revealed as a Kickstarter stretch goal at 2.975 million USD on August 13, 2020. The goal was met two days later on August 15.
History

Gocteau is a guild leader who heads several guilds in Allraan. Although he's an amiable person, he's been through a lot of tough times in his life and has emerged on the other side. As such, when trouble goes down, Gocteau gets a look in his eye that scares the pants off the younger guildsmen.
When New Nevaeh opened its doors to adventurers, Gocteau saw the promises of gold and fortune and headed there. He quickly became the representative of the merchants and adventurers of Outlander Lane. As such, he liaisoned closely with Acting Mayor Isha and encouraged the development of Outlander Lane and the town as a whole. Watching over Mellore, he was frustrated when her antics caused trouble.
He is highly intelligent and knows how to gather information well, lending to his credibility as a representative. He can sense when things feel awry among the Outlanders, and can tactically make things right without interfering.
Gocteau is also an avid gambler, although his luck rarely allows him to come out ahead.

| After foiling Aldric's research, Gocteau defected to the League of Nations. Giving up the status he'd accrued as a guild leader and having to leave his family behind, he is now trying to build up his name to fulfill his vow to see them again.

| In a backstreet, Gocteau stood amidst all the town's outsiders. Their regard for him was palpable. Gocteau encouraged them: "We may be outsiders to this town, but we'll do our best to live in it."

| Gocteau stopped in a ruined town that had lost everything. "Starting from scratch again..." he muttered, a hint of sadness in his voice. Hogan arrived with news of a town called New Nevaeh.
"Hmm, that might be a good place to start over," he said, and set off there. |
