Isha is one of the three playable characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, and a recruitable hero in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.
Isha is the daughter of Daksa, former mayor of New Nevaeh, and succeeded him as acting mayor when he disappeared three months prior to CJ's arrival in town. She came up with the plan of generating revenue to rebuild the town by inviting adventures to explore the ruins.
History
|
Isha was born with uniquely azure hair and the innate ability to use magic, something normally considered impossible. Though she often felt lonely and isolated as a child due to her uniqueness, she grew up mostly happy with her father's love. She would become learned in a variety of difficult topics due to having limited opportunity to read age-appropriate books in New Nevaeh, instead reading any and all materials that would make their way to town through trading.
When her father disappeared following the uncovering of the Runebarrows, Isha took over as acting mayor. With the town abandoned by Margrave Mulka, she would encourage outlanders to come to the town to explore the Barrows, generating revenue. Sometimes accused of being rapacious, especially by outlanders who traveled to New Nevaeh in the hopes of striking it rich, any and all funds she accrues are funneled back into the town to help it back on its feet.
She also instituted the stamp card policy, where adventurers would take on tasks for townspeople in the hopes of earning an explorer's license. Seeing CJ's skill and willingness to help, Isha would give her an explorer's license despite not completing her stamp card or being able to pay the 100,000 baqua fee. Isha enjoyed the support of Gocteau but townspeople's opinions of her policies were divided.
As action mayor, Isha was careful not to favor any outlanders over others, but did agree to help CJ and Garoo destroy an ice barrier on Snowpeak in exchange for accepting a higher tax rate on their finds sold in New Nevaeh. On Snowpeak, Isha would encounter a figure who appeared to be her father. Though he would not respond to her, Isha was certain the man was her father and begged CJ and Garoo to help her find him. Their agreement would bring Isha into the fold and the three would explore together from that point onwards.
Exploring the Runebarrows, Isha would learn the fate of her father and also about Shekhinah's experiments and the fate of the azure-haired inhabitants of Old Nevaeh. Confronting Shiva about the Barrow's Blessing, he explained that Isha was born with a raw lens in her body. This is what resulted in her azure hair and ability to use magic naturally. However, as a result of the "blessing," Isha is expected to die at a young age as the lens is embedded in her major organs.
Though understandably upset, Isha was able to place her hopes in CJ's plan to destroy the sigil powering the Barrow's Blessing. Though she avenged her father and defeated Shekhinah, the destruction of the sigil did not remove the "blessing" from Isha. She resolved to spend whatever remaining time was afforded her in being the best acting mayor she could be, but in the weeks following Shekhinah's defeat CJ seemingly convinced her that the two should leave New Nevaeh and look for a cure instead.
Design
Character designer Junko Kawano has said that Isha is strong willed. She imagined her relationship with CJ would run parallel to
Nowa and
Seign Kesling's.

Implanted Lens |
---|
An ancient sorcerer implanted a primal lens into Isha, near her heart. No ordinary methods can remove it, but the lens gives her inborn magical powers.
This comes at a steep price: supposedly, the magic could go out of control at any time, taking her lifespan with it. |
Going After Her Father |
---|
Isha's father disappeared in an accident in the New Nevaeh Barrows. Isha tried to save him by taking the post of acting mayor and teaming up with CJ and Garoo to explore the Barrows...
There's no reading where this story ends. You'll have to ask Isha herself. |
Leaving New Nevaeh |
---|
With her town New Nevaeh out of danger, acting mayor Isha set out with CJ to find a way to cure the worsening illness of her friend Garoo’s daughter, Allaby.
Her quest also has another goal: to promote New Nevaeh specialties in other towns. |
