Marin is a recruitable character in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. She is the younger sister of Wyler and skilled in the art of preparing healing herbs. She is also a talented gatherer, quick to spot pretty flowers and stones as well as practical materials and plants.
History
|
Marin says that pretty things "sparkle" to her and that's how she finds them. She trusts and loves her brother, Wyler, with all her heart, and insists he's the best brother in the whole wide world. As a child, she would follow him everywhere and once got lost following him out hunting. Wyler chewed her out for that and she stayed home when he hunted afterwards, but always under protest, crying that she didn't want him to go.
As she grew older, Marin studied herbology to help her brother on his hunting trips. She became good at locating herbs, pretty stones, fruit, and other materials in the forest. She also learned to pack meals for her brother[1]. Now, when Wyler is hunting, Marin is nearby, collecting her materials, eager to return together.
On one such expedition to Bounty Hill the two were separated and Marin would find herself corned by a rouge
Plantvine. Fortunately, Wyler and
Nowa were able to find and rescue her. In gratitude, both Marin and her brother would join the Alliance. At the
Headquarters she would wake up early to water the flowers[2]. She also noticed
Kerrin's consideration for her brother[3]. She also enjoyed performing in
Clarke's plays[4].
Once she came across Squash in the forest while foraging. She was very pleased when Squash complimented the quality of the rocks she had collected. Wyler was very protective of Marin but also appreciated how much she enjoyed living with the Alliance[5]. She had never seen a shi'arc[6] or the desert[7] before the Alliance traveled to the
Eastern Desert in an attempt to forge an alliance.
Following the war, Marin continues to live happily with Wyler. Former Alliance comrades and others from nearby villages ask her out, but Wyler, as always, does not approve[8].
Design
"Since the design work for Marin's brother was already finished, I created the image of a girl who is good at collecting plants while adding elements from her brother. I must confess that the color of Marin's eyes is blue because I was a little too distracted by the word "marine."" - Junko Kawano
