History

El Alicanto
My name is El Alicanto! I swoop down now upon your wrongdoing. You will answer to the Golden Champion!

El Alicanto hails from a land where only divinely appointed warriors wear a mask, dedicating their battles to their god. "El Alicanto" in his language signifies a golden bird. Feeling a kinship with birds and the heavens, he mastered leaping strikes to emulate flight. El Alicanto views birds as messengers of god and so seeing one nearby when he's fighting makes his spirit soar. Devoted to his god, El Alicanto would dedicate his training and many of his works and tasks to his deity.

Before he left home, El Alicanto was in a fight for honor in which the loser would have to unmask. His opponent won by cheating, so El Alicanto wasn't made to unmask, but he still felt the fight was a black mark and left home to grow stronger. His training journey would eventually take him to the peak of Snowpeak Pass, where he awaited the arrival of someone he could call a worthy comrade[2].

This is what they call a high-risk maneuver

Nowa turn icon.png Nowa would ascend the mountain and challenge El Alicanto. After being defeated in a one-on-one duel that saw the two fighters exchange blows while coursing down the mountain, El Alicanto saw that the Golden Bird smiled upon Nowa and gladly joined the Alliance, their destinies now joined. He was also glad to finally have a reason to leave the frozen peak[3].

Although he journey began because of a loss, he had no regrets as it brought him into contact with the many powerful warriors of the Alliance[4]. He saw great potential in Gigina turn icon.png Gigina in particular, stating he would be a powerful warrior when he grew up[5].

Following the war, El Alicanto was venerated as a soldier of the True God in his homeland. Still, he knows he has a long road ahead.
