Mulka is a character mentioned in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. He is the margrave of House Chantra with nominal authority and responsibility for the area New Nevaeh lies in.

History

Margrave Mulka was regarded as unscrupulous, spineless, and self-serving. In the aftermath of the earthquakes that struck New Nevaeh and uncovered the Runebarrows, Mulka provided no assistance, earning him the scorn of the townspeople. The people of the town believed he would do nothing if the Galdean Empire were to invade.

When Hurstwine attempted to purchase the mining rights to the Runebarrows from Daksa, the mayor decided he needed to consult Mulka on the matter as the Barrows belonged to the League of Nations. The margrave 'entrusted' Daksa with the matter while cutting off all funding and support. Isha speculated that Mulka had abandoned New Nevaeh in order to secure his and House Chantra's survival should the Empire invade.

Trivia

  • Historically, 'margrave' was originally the medieval title for the military commander assigned to maintain the defense of one of the border provinces of the Holy Roman Empire or of a kingdom. That position became hereditary in certain feudal families in the Empire and the title came to be borne by rulers of some Imperial principalities until the abolition of the Empire in 1806.
