Reyna is a human-type enemy that appears in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. She is fought in IconMapTown.pngDabavin as part of the requirements to recruit her.

Information

Reyna was encountered by the Alliance near the harbor of IconMapTown.pngDabavin. She agreed to join the force on the condition that they force her to acknowledge their strength by wounding her in battle.

Strategy

This battle with Reyna is a simple damage challenge: Reduce her HP by half in three rounds to win. On normal mode, this means a target of 1,573 damage and a goal of 1,699 on hard difficulty. Reyna will defend for all three rounds and take no other actions.

This gives a number of advantages to the player: As Reyna will not attack, the party can be both chosen and equipped for pure offense with no consideration needed for defensive stats. Still, despite this, clearing the damage requirement on the first visit to IconMapTown.pngDabavin can be tricky. A player needs to clear over 500 HP of damage per round and has little build-up time for buffs. The three-round limit also hampers more powerful SP techniques and renders many of them moot if playing with the Double MP/SP Consumption toggle on. Also, as stated, Reyna defends every round, reducing her damage taken that much further.

To counteract Reyna's major strength, the sleep status effect from the IconRuneMagic.png Rune of Dark will rob Reyna of her defensive protection, allowing much more damage to be accumulated.

Douglas can be a very helpful support character in this battle, gifting the party a PWR and MGC boost at the beginning of combat without eating an action. Galdorf turn icon.png Galdorf and Yusuke turn icon.png Yusuke are potentially potent allies for this encounter as their Charge Up defensive actions can quickly set them up for a powerful attack, especially if they crit. They are also IconSmash.png Smash and IconGrapple.png Grapple weapon users respectively, which Reyna is not strong against. Reyna also has a small weakness to IconWater.png Water and IconWind.png Wind attacks making Isha turn icon.png Isha and other such magical attackers potentially useful units.

Of course, the even easier strategy is to ignore this battle for a time and come back with higher levels later, substantially reducing the difficulty of the challenge.

Bug

Current versions of the game appear to include a bug where the third turn of battle will end prematurely if the player is about to pass the damage threshold, resulting in Reyna rejecting the player as if they had failed. Current methods to get around this focus on using the IconRuneMagic.png Rune of Dark strategy to put Reyna to sleep, allowing a sufficiently heavy hitter to bypass the threshold on the second turn.

Trivia
