Narungarde is a human-type boss enemy that appears in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. She is fought alongside Hurstwine.

Information

Confronted by the Alliance at the ends of the IconMapBarrows.pngProving Grounds, having had their plans to steal a Primal Lens thwarted, Narungarde and Hurstwine would put up a vicious fight against their opponents.

Strategy

While Hurstwine's sleep attacks make him a nuisance, it is Narungarde, safe in the back row, who is the main damage dealer of the two. Like Hurstwine, she has two actions per round, usually involving her casting Rock Thrust and/or using her IconDark.png Dark magic attack. Her attacks can hit any player character, regardless of their position in the front or back row.

This is one of the reasons she should be targetted first. The other reason is that should Hurstwine fall before her, she will begin to spam Reaper's Lullaby, an attack that hits the entire player party with a high chance to inflict sleep.

Her relatively low speed usually means she is the last to act, giving the player the opportunity to heal and prepare for her attacks if need be. Once either her or Hurstwine's health are below a certain level, she will cast Land's Armor, giving the duo an additional 50 Armor points.

A player party's front row would benefit from being comprised of IconMedium.png Medium range fighters so as to reach Narungarde in the back row. The player's back row, meanwhile, should be bolstered with characters who can spread healing duties among themselves while dealing damage during safe turns. Although a temporary party member, Marisa turn icon.png Marisa works well in either capacity. Her proficency for IconWind.png Wind magic attacks give her an advantage over the IconEarth.png Earth based Narungarde.
