At this rate, he would be caught. He had to run. "Sorry, I
must be going." "You're a prince, so you'll be at the next
party, will you not?" "Th-The next party. Yeah. See you
there. I'll continue the story then." So lied Arlba to
make his escape. But though he returned home safely,
thoughts of Saria consumed him. Because he had lied
about being a prince, Saria would surely be
disappointed if he did not appear at the party.
Arlba had an idea. "I know, I'll slip into the party
disguised as a prince." Sneaking into a wicked noble's
home, he stole clothes for a disguise, and successfully
infiltrated the party. The party was magnificent.
All the people wore beautiful clothes,
and all the food was sumptuous. Amid the hubbub, Arlba searched for Saria. He found her in the middle of the hall, smiling uncomfortably. By her side was Gireeno. Arlba extended his hand and said, "May I have this dance?" "Yes, with pleasure." Saria took his hand and danced with him. It was like a dream. Overwhelmed by the moment, Arlba impulsively proposed. "Please, Saria, will you marry me?" But Saria looked down sadly. "If only I could. How happy I would be. But I..." Just then, Gireeno seized her hand and swept her up. "Hear me, one and all!" Loudly he proclaimed to all who were there. "Princess Saria will marry me!!"
